Honey moon in Italy

How many people wishes to honeymoon in Italy? A lot, I guess.

I feel that many couple who come here to get married then they fly away in other countries instead of searching for romantic spots, hidden places and try to explore more about the country they decide to get married.

If you decide to get married in Tuscany you can explore other regions such as the south of Italy, for example

Sicily and Apulia , Sardinia or Capri and the  Amalphitan Coast are certainly the most celebrated spots but if you want to go in depth and explore other beauties you can certainly choose another destination.

-         The stones of Matera where Mel Gibson filmed his Passion

-         The Alps in northern Italy, beautiful in winter as in summer and with lots of small town resorts with lots of romantic hotels.

-         Cinque Terre, everybody loves Cinque Terre, I think that they are more loved by Americans than Italians!

-         The lake region up north of Milan, Lake Como, Maggiore and Garda

-         The far eastern part of Italy and Trieste

My favourite places to get married

This is is my top ten of places I like the most to get married in Tuscany

- Palazzo vecchio, Florence for civil ceremony

- Sky Lounge Hotel Continental, because the view from up there is magnificent!

- The terrace of MOBA resturant because I did my first wedding there and it is a place to be every single summer!

- Salviatino hotel, because it is few minutes from the city centre and it is so secluded and surrounded by wood. Pure Romanticism

-Four season, because it is luxury and the hotel  have different sites to organize  weddings both in winter and in summer

-Elba Island, because it is an enchanting place

- Capoliveri, because they allow to celebrate civil weddings on the beach or in a private garden

- Mugello area, few km from Florence, less touristy than Chianti. Amazing food and landscaping

- Montalcino, for the beauty of the countryside and excellence of the wine

- Maremma, south of Tuscany. So dramatic, wild and romantic

- The Versilia, for its VIP taste and a variety of place for organizing summer weddings

This is a very hectic peirod for me: a wedding in less than a month, a synopsi for a book I have to write, a translation for a friend of mine who is a DJ and many other things to do.

Capoliveri wedding (Elba island)

Last week end even if it was an exceptional week end in terms of weather, it wa sa very proficuos in terms of arranging almost everything for the beach wedding in July.

Capoliveri is such an amazing hilltop town, where from the the main square, you can have a marvellous view of the sea and the roof of the town of Capoliveri.  Few km form Capoliveri there amazing beaches, the Innamorata, for example, Barabarca and many others. Some are reachable by cars some others by a small walk.

It was nice sitting on the square at Sottovento, the aperitif  stop for all the tourists arriving in Capoliveri and for the prople of Capoliveri, imagine on how the wedding will be.

The first part will be in the church near Capoliveri, famous because all the Capoliveri hinabitants wants to marry there, then we move to the beach for the civil ceremony.

Fall wedding in Florence

Forget the unberable heat of Florence during the summer months, forget the crowds, forget the noise, forget the line in font of the Uffizi, Accademia and wait  ages at restaurant tables to be served and forget also to lose so much money for your wedding.

I already mentioned how nice and less expensive is to prepare a wedding in October or even better in November. If you book now you can be sure to get your perfect date in the Sala Rossa of Palazzo Vecchio, after that you can have lunch in one of the five stars hotel of the city centre: closed to Piazza della Signoria or Santa Croce.

You can even organize a pre wedding dinner with your siblings and relatives in a typical Florentine wine bar or in a trattoria to try the best T bone steak in town.

Blessing in a Chianti garden

Just outside Greve in Chianti there is a Renaissance villa famous because the famous Monnalisa was born here and because several years ago a british director filmed a movie. The Villa is surrounded by one of the most amazing gardens have seen in the Chianti area and it is absolutely perfect for an outdoor blessing ceremony.

The best time is spring, of course, when everything blossom but also in July at the sunset or september and october when the colour are turned into a different light.

After the ceremony you can certaily taste the food of their restaurant and above all their excellent Chianti wine (they won several prizes) and of course spend the night as a couple or together with your guests.

Perfect location for a winter wedding

One of the wonderful thing about this job is that we are surrounded by amazing things: the athomosphere a wedding brings with you, of course, but I think that searching for a location is the best thing of all. There are not so many location with the wow factor but certainly the Relais Santa Croce has. The Relais is a part of Baglioni group and Relais et Chateaux and it is in the heart of Florence, in the area of santa Croce. The same hotel, a five stars Luxury is in the same historical palace of the first top 10 restaurant of Italy, Enoteca Pinchiorri.

The Relais has its own restaurant where you can taste different specialties from the tuscan cuisine and taste our tasty and well known tuscan wines.

The hotel has rooms as well as suites and you can enjoy an amazing view of Florenc from two of them, but as the hotel does not have terraces or garden, I prefer this hotel for an intimate and cosy winter wedding, the kind of weddings you share with parents and close relatives.

Remember winter wedidngs in Florence are less expensive than the one in Summer: you need only to avoid the Christmas period.

Last minute wedding deals

If you choose to have your last minute beach wedding in September with a civil or a blessing ceremony on the beach or in a terrace over looking the Tyrrenean sea, I ma some dates available. Afterwards, you you can opt either for an informal lunch or dinner in a typical restaurant still overlooking the sea or dine in a top five villa in the north of the island, near Portoferraio.

Wedding in Palazzo Vecchio

Few hours after the Royal Couple tied the knot cheered up by million of people in the Uk and all over the world, another young londoner couple tied the knot in Florence in the famous Red room in Palazzo Vecchio . Just the two of them, me as  a wedding planner and translator, and two very special witnesses, closed friends of mine.

The civil ceremony were very moving despite what people might thing of a cold civil ceremony. I think when there is love and you can witness the love of two people, nothing is cold: the red room is a historical room, not important only for Florence but also for what it has represented for the country.

A beautiful day ended up with a toast with cappuccino and a french croissant in another historical place f Florence, Rivoire Cafè in Piazza della Signoria.
