Pure Romanticism / Romantismo puro

Last Thursday I had the most wonderful experience of my wedding planner life.

J&JM, a couple from Los Angeles, flew in Florence to their wedding. We started in the morning with a civil ceremony in Palazzo Vecchio, where I translated the act. J&JM are the most romantic couple ever seen: the speech they gave each other when exchanging the wedding ring (bought in one of the jewelry in Ponte Vecchio) made everyone, including the civil officer, very emotional. Beautiful, gentle and with a permanent grin on their face spread light and happiness all over the room.

Then, they had a cocktail at Rivoire, a historical café in Piazza della Signoria with canapé, prosecco and juice. The dinner was later on, on the terrace of the sky lounge of the Hotel Continentale.

Quinta-feira passada eu tive a experiência mais maravilhosa da minha vida planejador do casamento.

J & JM, um casal de Los Angeles, voou em Florença para seu casamento. Começamos de manhã com uma cerimônia civil no Palazzo Vecchio, onde eu traduzi o ato. J & JM são o casal mais romântico já viu: o discurso deram um ao outro, ao trocar o anel de casamento (comprado em uma das jóias na Ponte Vecchio) fez com que todos, incluindo o policial civil, muito emocional. Bonita, suave e com um sorriso permanente no rosto a sua luz propagação e felicidade por toda a sala.

Então, eles tinham um cocktail no Rivoire, um café histórico na Piazza della Signoria com canapé, prosecco e suco. O jantar foi, mais tarde, no terraço da sky lounge do Hotel Continentale.

 

Wedding on Elba island

I am about to leave for Elba island. Last time was a month ago with an horrible weather! This week end the sun shines and the temperature will go very warm.

I have lots of meeting in these days, but it will be a very relaxing week end too. We have chose the beach, for 70% the beach will be the one upon the monastery of Madonna delle Grazie near Capoliveri.

It will be at the sun set with a very simple display to keep it on the budget, only few friends will attend, becasue it wil be only civil one, then when the air cool down in Florence they will have the religiuos ceremony.

On Saturday we will choose also the restaurant, which I think will be on the beach overlooking the port of Marciana Marina.

This could be an example of budget wedding yet romantic and with a personal touch. All the guests will wear white and navy ( I hope the bridesmaids will listen to this).

End of June wedding

J & Jm a nice couple from LA contacted me last November to start concept their summer wedding in Florence. He previously visited my town but she wasn’t so as a surprise for her, he managed to get in touch with me and start to think about it.

After few emails we managed to know each other’s trough Skype (nice invention) and process things.

They are coming this Sunday and together we have a quite busy week: hairs, inspections, rehearsal dinner and finally the wedding day which will be divided into three parts: ceremony at palazzo Vecchio, cocktail at one of the historical cafe of Florence and then dinner at the sunset here:

Florence Orangery

I wrote so many times about the Roster’s tepidarium in Florence, the greenhouse. Until few months ago this location was only open for occasional events, BUT, in the last months I went there for several events, and I said to myself that the location could be perfect for private events such as weddings.

Finally after months of searching I found the phone number of the person in charge of the location, a very young and lovely woman who gave me lots of information and was glad to talk with a wedding planner.

The largest greenhouse of Italy was built in the second half of the 1800 by the Engeneer Giacomo Roster. The Tepidarium is 650 squared meters covered with cast iron and glass.

The Greenhouse confines with the famous Botanical garden where in may there is a famous flower show. The location can be rented from half day to full day at a very interesting price.

The cocktail, in spring or summer, can be organized  in a part of the botanical garden.

Inside the Tepidarium variuos butterflies coming from several part of the world will give an extra touch to your event.

Blessing in a Chianti garden

A dream blessing in a Chianti garden followed by a cocktail or a dinner can be done in different villas in Chianti.

I picked up three with the most famous Italian gardens:

Villa Scopeti has a large 1700 garden known as the season garden, becasue of the four different area of the garden where the season flowers born. A unique experience for different seasons.

The villa is 30 min outside Florence in the San Casciano area

Villa Maggio is just two km off Greve in Chianti: the villa it self is known both for the splendor of the castles as well as for the magnificent garden.

Castle Greve is another example of Renaissance castle near Greve with a small garden but with an outstanding view on vinyeards and olive fields.

It is importanto to note that the italian garden is very different from the english garden, therefore don’t be disappointed if you don’t find so many flowers but a lot of trees, bushes and jars with lemons, oranges and so on.

Quite busy

I am quite busy at the moment and I am very sorry I cannot write more. June 23rd is approaching and I have all the last details to discuss with the bride, moreover the July beach wedding in the mid of the month even if is a simple, friendly and down to earth wedding is still full of things to do (that’s’ why I will go once again to Elba island in two weeks time) to fulfill the last details and that’s all for the summer. The big wedding is at the end of August and I am following it for the past one year and half, but I have some time in the middle to rest. I will keep you posted about that later on.

Meanwhile, if you are thinking about a wedding of any kind (beach, Florence, Lake Como and so on) please consider to reserve by end of September. Remember Civil wedding ceremony in Florence can be booked only six months prior the wedding.
