Persian wedding in Florence

An elegant Persian wedding in a private villa

D & T had very clear ideas. They did not want to get married in a venue devoted only to weddings.

So, when they contacted me, they had already made their choice: a private villa about 40 minutes from Florence. While the choice of renting a private villa was fine in many aspects, one must also realize that not all facilities are suitable for holding weddings.

Those who organize weddings in their facilities know exactly what the bride and groom-to-be may want and have everything they need to accommodate them.

The villa is very beautiful but not being a wedding venue there were several logistical difficulties.

June last year was really very hot and we struggled a bit to figure out the best location for the ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner, to give a better place for guests to stay in the shade. Moreover, the couple had many requests

But let’s go step by step.

The ceremony was done in the garden in front of the villa, and it was a typical Persian ceremony with so many objects and symbols that finding them was not easy at all, but that once we assembled all the various objects, and the flowers, the result was beautiful and very striking.

D. then, having studied in Florence for a semester, had fallen in love with a book (Bella Figura) by a famous English journalist and writer of Persian descent who lives in Florence. I contacted her and she was very nice to agree to celebrate by spending most of the afternoon with us.

After the ceremony usually follows the cocktail hour but not for Persian culture where it is a real party time. The DJ alternated dance music with Persian dance music while guests and bride and groom ate, drank great cocktails, and danced until 8:30 p.m. time when they cut the wedding cake! Yes, it sounds the other way around but I assure you it is perhaps the best way to enjoy it all.

Around 9 o’clock they sat down for a quick dinner and then enjoyed the cool weather after a day of scorching heat.

D&T as the caterer they chose an NGO of volunteers who cooked and where the proceeds of the dinner were entirely donated for humanitarian purposes in Africa.
